1980
Opened as Specialists in Family Medicine, with 4 Family Medicine Physicians in a single office.
1988
Specialists in Family Medicine became Family Care, PC with 15 Family Medicine Physicians located in 4 offices and operated with shared administrative services.
1993
In November, Family Care entered into partnership with Saint Mary’s. The Advantage Health Managed Services Organization was created.
1994
Family Care became Advantage Health Physicians, PC with 26 Physicians located in 6 offices.
1994 – 1999 – Growth Phase
Contracted with Saint Mary’s for support services and mergers/acquisitions of community practices. Transitioned from Family Medicine to Primary Care with 82 physicians in 15 offices offering Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics and Geriatrics.
2000
Infrastructure to support the network was developed in the areas of operations, finance, human resources, provider services and risk and compliance.
2003
Assumed management and oversight of 9 Saint Mary’s Ambulatory Clinics.
2004
Assumed management and oversight of Wege Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Specialty and Residency practices in 7 locations.
2005 – 2007 – Growth Phase
Grew from 82 physicians to 120 physicians and 23 mid-level providers in 13 locations. Added Internal Medicine-Pediatric specialty to the organization and initiated “integrated practices” with multi-specialty practitioners working side-by-side.
2008
Strategic growth plan included our brand identity launch, growth of physician practices, our affiliated specialist network, and the Patient Centered Medical Home concept.
